Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Rzeszów

Presentation of the organization

The Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Rzeszów is an organization of economic self-government associating enterprises and having a development of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship as its target.

We achieve our targets by:

• creating business relationships
• arranging international business contacts
• gaining business partners and markets in Poland and abroad
• organizing business missions for Polish and foreign companies
• cooperating with foreign organizations, in particular from: Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Germany, Ukraine, Romania
• initiating and voicing opinions about legislative regulations relating to business activity
• educational and publishing activities
• assisting companies in solving their current problems, especially connected with public administration, local government or financial institutions
• supporting business undertakings
• organizing fairs
• exchanging business information and experiences
• organizing training courses in economy, law, organization and technology.

The Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Rzeszów was established in 1990 by more than 100 member companies. We participated in all activities aimed at development of regional business environment and gained a lot of appreciation within our region. We cooperated with many organizations, in particular with national and regional authorities (while co-funding Regional Business Council, Agency of Regional Development in Rzeszów). We started initiatives like Center of Business Support or trainings in the "School for Managers" in cooperation with the Association of Entrepreneurship Promotion. Moreover, we helped to create a bureau supported by PHARE in cooperation with the Association for Support of Business Initiatives in Leżajsk. The Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Rzeszów implemented the project: "Model Business Plan for a Local Community" and is involved in the fight against unemployment by inspiring changes in educational system, participating in Voivodeship Employment Council and District Employment Councils. We have realized that acting alone we will not have sufficient influence on creating business policy in our country, therefore we joined Polish Chamber of Commerce (KIG). We were one of 12 out of the 186 organizations associated in KIG qualified by the contest to be included in the program of adapting to the European structures. Association in KIG gives us possibility of having a direct influence on the changes in the Polish economy. From the very beginning we recognized that cooperating with our neighbouring countries is a priority. We participated in creating an association of organizations from 6 countries called Cooperation Contract of Carpathian Chambers (CCCC), which creates the basis for economic integration of several regions through the exchange of regulations, information and mutual promotion. The Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Rzeszów cooperates with an ever-increasing number of companies and institutions. Currently, we have about 200 associated members. The Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Rzeszów invites to cooperation all the organizations involved in running commercial and industrial enterprises in the territory of South - East Poland.
